Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
Candidates born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.
Candidates who successfully clear all stages of the selection process must not exceed 21 years of age at the time of enrollment.
Educational Qualification
Science Stream
Applicants must have passed:
- Intermediate / 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English from a recognized education board with:
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks
- At least 50% marks in English
OR
- A Three-Year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / IT / Instrumentation Technology) with:
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks
- At least 50% marks in English (either in Diploma or in Matriculation/Intermediate)
OR
- A Two-Year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects such as Physics and Mathematics along with:
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks
- At least 50% marks in English
Other Than Science Stream
Candidates must have passed:
- Intermediate / 10+2 in any stream from a recognized board with:
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks
- At least 50% marks in English
OR
- A Two-Year Vocational Course with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and English.
Medical Standards
Candidates must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards:
- Minimum Height:
- Male: 152 cm
- Female: 152 cm
- Relaxation to 147 cm for candidates from North East or hilly regions of Uttarakhand
- 150 cm for candidates from Lakshadweep
- Chest (Male): Minimum 77 cm with expansion of at least 5 cm
- Chest (Female): Minimum 5 cm expansion
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age
- Hearing: Normal hearing ability (forced whisper audible from 6 meters)
- Dental: Healthy gums with a minimum of 14 dental points
- General Health: Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to serve in any terrain or climate
Female candidates found pregnant during the medical examination will be declared unfit.
Tattoo Policy
Permanent tattoos are not permitted except:
- On the inner face of the forearms
- On the reverse side of the palm
- Tribal tattoos as per customs and traditions
Acceptance of tattoos will be subject to the decision of the Selection Centre.
