Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati invites applications for 9 contractual positions under the Gates Foundation–funded project “PMU support for health systems strengthening in Assam.” This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-impact public health initiative at a premier state medical institution. Vacancies, remuneration & eligibility (summary)

  1. Operation Head1 post
    • Salary: ₹225,000 – ₹258,824 / month
    • Qualification & experience: Postgraduate in Public/General Administration + min. 20 years in public health project management.
    • Max age: 60 years
  2. Technical Head (Public Health)1 post
    • Salary: ₹200,000 – ₹232,941 / month
    • Qualification & experience: MBBS + MD (Community Medicine) / MPH / DPH with min. 15 years in public health projects.
    • Max age: 60 years
  3. Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist2 posts
    • Salary: ₹125,000 – ₹155,294 / month
    • Qualification & experience: Master in Public Health + min. 8 years experience in monitoring & evaluation for public health projects.
    • Max age: 50 years
  4. Knowledge Management Lead1 post
    • Salary: ₹100,000 – ₹129,412 / month
    • Qualification & experience: Master’s in Public Health / Health Policy or related + min. 5 years in knowledge management for health programmes.

    • Salary: ₹60,000 – ₹77,647 / month
    • Qualification & experience: MBA / MCom / relevant + min. 5 years in administrative management within public health projects.

    • Salary: ₹125,000 – ₹155,294 / month
    • Qualification & experience: Master’s in Finance / Accounting / Business Administration + min. 20 years handling finance for government public health projects.
    • Max age: 50 years
  7. Partnership Coordinator1 post
    • Salary: ₹60,000 – ₹62,118 / month
    • Qualification & experience: MBA + min. 3 years working on partnerships/collaborations in public health initiatives.
    • Max age: 50 years
  8. Data Analyst (posted at NHM, Assam)1 post
    • Salary: ₹125,000 – ₹155,294 / month
    • Qualification & experience: Master’s in Computer Science / Data Science / Health Information Systems or related + min. 5 years in data analytics for public health projects.
    • Max age: 50 years

Key skills & attributes we seek

  • Demonstrable project management and donor-funded programme experience.
  • Strong public health technical knowledge (for technical roles).
  • Proven track record in M&E, KM, finance, partnerships, or data analytics as required by the role.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with government bodies (NHM, state health departments) and external partners.

Terms

  • These are contractual appointments for the Gates Foundation–funded PMU support project at GMCH.
  • Place of posting may vary (Data Analyst will be posted at NHM, Assam as specified).
  • Exact contract duration, benefits and other terms will be governed by the appointment letter.
