CTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria – Educational Qualifications

CTET 2025 Primary Stage Eligibility (Classes I–V)

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

1. Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 45% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
2. Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
3. Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
4. Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree.

CTET 2025 Upper Primary Stage Eligibility (Classes VI–VIII)

Candidates must meet any one of the following qualifications:

1. Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
3. Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
4. Graduation with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
5. Candidates holding a B.Ed degree recognized by NCTE are also eligible for CTET/TET.
6. As per NCTE guidelines (11 February 2011), candidates currently enrolled in any teacher education course recognized by NCTE or RCI as per the NCTE Notification dated 23 August 2010 are also eligible to apply.
