Assam Higher Secondary TET 2026 – HS TET Online Application

The Secondary Education Department, Assam is expected to release the official notification for the Assam Higher Secondary (HS) TET 2026 soon. This Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted to recruit Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) for provincialized Higher Secondary Schools across the state.

Based on past trends, the HS TET 2026 notification is likely to be published in November 2025, with the examination tentatively scheduled for January 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam HS TET 2026

Educational Qualification:

• Master’s Degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.
• B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized institution is mandatory.
• Degrees obtained through off-campus or unrecognized distance mode will not be considered valid unless UGC and other relevant authorities have approved both the institute and the course.

Citizenship & Domicile:

• The applicant must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.

Age Limit:

JEE Main 2026 – Online Application, Exam Date, Eligibility, Syllabus & Exam Pattern

• Minimum age: 21 years.
• Upper age limit will be as per government rules at the time of appointment.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus (Expected)

The Assam HS TET will have two papers carrying a total of 200 marks. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Paper I – Common for All Candidates (100 Marks)

Paper II – Subject Specific (100 Marks)

Candidates must choose one of the following options:

• Option A: Commerce
• Option B: Science
• Option C: General Studies & Current Affairs

Note: The exam paper will be available in English, Assamese, Bengali, and Bodo.

Qualifying Marks

Only candidates with more than 40% physical disability are eligible to apply under the PwD category.

Validity of TET Certificate

• The TET certificate will remain valid for 7 years from the date of issue.
• However, the candidate must still meet all other eligibility criteria set by the Assam government at the time of recruitment.

Special Notes

• Only Master’s Degree holders are eligible. No equivalence will be accepted.
• B.Ed degrees from unrecognized/off-campus institutions will not be accepted.
• Blind candidates will receive 50 minutes of extra time, and they may use a certified scribe.
• The age will be calculated based on the HSLC Admit Card/Certificate – no alternative documents will be accepted.
