The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has announced admission guidelines for Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses for the session 2025. Eligible candidates who qualified NEET-PG 2025 and have worked in remote & difficult areas of Assam can apply for admission with additional weightage marks.
Who Can Apply?
- Candidates who have qualified NEET-PG 2025 (with required cut-off marks or above).
- Candidates who have served in the remote & difficult areas of Assam (as listed below).
Important Dates
- Application Start Date: 23rd August 2025
- Last Date for Submission: 6th September 2025 (during office hours only)
- Mode of Submission: By hand at the office (2nd floor, Room No. 5, DME Assam).
- Note: Applications by Post/E-mail will not be accepted.
Weightage of Marks (as per PG Admission Rules)
- For every 1 year of continuous service in remote/difficult areas → +3% marks in NEET-PG score.
- Maximum weightage allowed → +9% (3 years or more of service).
- Final score (including weightage) cannot exceed the NEET-PG cutoff.
- Certification of service must be issued by the competent authority (as per Appendix II).
Remote & Difficult Areas in Assam
As per Government notification (Assam Gazette, 6th Dec 2021), the following areas are considered:
- Hill Districts: North Cachar Hills (Dima Hasao), Karbi Anglong
- Remote Areas: Dhemaji, Sadiya Sub-division, Majuli, Dhakuakhana Sub-division, South Salmara District
Application Process
- Download Application Form from the official website: www.dme.assam.gov.in (available from 23rd August 2025).
- Fill in the Form carefully.
- Submit by Hand along with required documents at the DME office (2nd floor, Room No. 5).
- Collect Acknowledgement Receipt at the time of submission.
